Adult Psychology in Erina & Across the Central Coast

Adults seek psychological support for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, struggling with emotional regulation, navigating relationship or family difficulties, or simply feeling that something in your life is no longer working.

You don't need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Together, we can work to understand what is happening, identify the patterns contributing to your difficulties and develop strategies that support meaningful change.

What can adult psychology help with?

I work with adults experiencing a range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and excessive worry

  • Stress, overwhelm, anger and burnout

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Low self-esteem and self-worth

  • Relationship and family difficulties

  • Separation and family law-related circumstances

  • ADHD-related challenges

  • Life transitions and significant changes

  • Difficulties with motivation, organisation or follow-through

  • Patterns of avoidance or unhelpful coping

  • Feeling stuck, disconnected or overwhelmed

Psychological therapy is not only for when things have reached crisis point. Sometimes seeking support earlier can help you understand what is happening and make changes before difficulties become more entrenched.

Psychological Support for Adults

I have more than 10 years of experience working therapeutically across a range of settings, including private practice, schools, the NDIS, family law-related contexts, and working with parents of neurodivergent children.

This breadth of experience has given me an understanding that psychological difficulties rarely exist in isolation. Your relationships, experiences, environment and life circumstances can all influence how you think, feel and respond.

My approach is individualised and evidence informed. Rather than applying the same treatment to everyone, I work with you to understand your circumstances and develop therapy around your needs and goals.

What happens when you see an adult psychologist?

Your first appointment is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you would like help with.

You don't need to know exactly what is wrong or have a clear treatment goal before you begin.

We will work towards understanding what is happening for you, what may be contributing to it and what you would like to be different. From there, we can develop a treatment approach that is appropriate for you.

Therapy may involve developing practical strategies, understanding emotional patterns, changing unhelpful thinking or behaviour, exploring relationships and experiences, or developing a greater understanding of yourself.
