Adolescent and Teen Psychologist on the Central Coast
Want to understand the changes in your teenager's behaviour?
Want to know how to help when you see them struggling?
At Rivendell Psychology we can find the answers, and give practical support for anxiety, depression, school stress, friendships and confidence.
As children individuate and start to break away from telling their parents everything, a psychologist can make all the difference.
Don’t let them rely on influencers to give them tips on their mental health. Visit us today.
Teen Psychology Process
Each phase builds on the previous, enabling cumulative insight and continuous inner growth, confidence and symptom reduction.
Parent Interview
Psychologist completes an hour session interview with the parents to get their history to ensure an accurate chance of an effective case formulation is made. Here our psychologist will let you know the starting treatment plan which parents can agree to, or provide more insight until we get it right!
Child Sessions.
Your child comes to their first session, where they will be invited to enter by themselves, go over consent, confidentiality and limitations to confidentiality. The therapy sessions will then be led by your child, with the agreed treatment plan being interwoven by the psychologist.
Review Session & Continuation
After around 5 sessions, the psychologist will ask the parents for their feedback around how they feel their child is going to inform further treatment. Individual sessions with the child will continue, working towards set goals.
Meet and Greet
Some teenagers want to check out the psychologist before deciding to consent/attend. A meet and greet provides them the opportunity to see if they “gel” with our psychologist.
